Periodontal Gum Disease Treatment

Gum Disease Treatment with Perio Protect®

Perio Protect Gum Disease Treatment TraysAlthough millions of Americans have been diagnosed with gingivitis or periodontitis, up until recently, there was no long-term, minimally invasive, non-surgical gum disease treatment. For decades, the cleaning of root surfaces (called scaling and root planing) has been done in combination with antibiotics. This approach is often uncomfortable and temporary, typically repeated every 3 months. Surgery is reserved for advanced gum disease. The surgical procedures can be painful and also require on-going maintenance therapy scheduled as frequently as every 6 weeks.

If these methods worked well, 47% of American adults would not have chronic periodontal disease. The Perio Tray® by Perio Protect was developed to supplement and improve treatments. The prescription Perio Tray is customized for each patient to deliver medication deep below the gums to fight gingival infections and it is used just 10-15 minutes a day. The daily application of medication provides more effective disease management.

If you are suffering from any of these common gum disease symptoms, or if you believe your gums may be infected and diseased, consider the possibilities with the Perio Tray. When this comfortable tray is combined with professional dental therapy and ongoing supervision, you have minimally invasive, long-term and cost effective care designed to avoid repetitive scaling procedures and surgery.

What is the Perio Tray?

The prescription Perio Tray is customized for individual patients with an internal seal that helps place medication deep below the gums so that the medication can fight the infectious bacteria. This is important because brushing, rinsing, and flossing just can’t reach below the gums to manage the bacteria that cause the disease. You can’t cure gum disease but you need to manage it well or the bacteria will recolonize and continue the disease cycle. The Perio Tray was created to get medication deep beneath the gums and hold it there long enough to fight the bacterial communities (called biofilms). The Perio Tray is a unique prescription medical device that is used under the supervision of a dental professional for more effective and long-term gum disease treatment. The founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Perio Protect has a personal history that inspired the creation of the Perio Tray, and he has made it his mission to spread this less-invasive gum disease treatment option to as many patients as possible.

At Home Oral Bacteria Management

Oral Bacteria Health Perio Tray at Home KitManaging oral bacteria that cause gum diseases is an important part of maintaining oral health, as well as your overall health. The Perio Tray is instrumental in helping patients manage their gingivitis or periodontitis, providing daily, effective therapy that actively fights bacteria buildups and keeps bacteria from spreading. Oral bacteria management can promote your general wellness too because the oral bacteria that cause gingivitis and periodontitis gum diseases are linked to several other serious systematic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, strokes, and more. To improve your overall health, be sure to manage your gum disease with proper dental hygiene, which includes regularly scheduled professional dental cleanings and the prescription Perio Tray between office visits.

Untreated infections can lead to tooth loss and may compromise your health. It’s important to talk to your doctor and hygienist about your conditions and treatment options. And it is important to treat the disease if you have it. Perio Protect can help.
