As you begin using your PerioProtect Trays with PerioGel and ReminGel, you may be curious about how to track your progress. In the first couple of weeks, many patients notice that ReminGel helps reduce tooth sensitivity—making daily life more comfortable while also starting to rebuild and protect enamel.
If you had swollen or bleeding gums at the start of treatment, PerioGel often helps reduce these early on—so you’ll likely notice less inflammation and bleeding when you brush.
In the following months, as you continue your routine, you may experience fresher breath from PerioGel’s bacteria-fighting power and have less tooth sensitivity as ReminGel works to strengthen enamel and reduce white spots.
Over the long term, the PerioProtect System with PerioGel and ReminGel provides a complete approach—supporting healthier gums, stronger teeth, and an overall healthier smile.
Your Step-by-Step Perio Protect Tray
Delivery Appointment
To help you get the most out of your treatment, we encourage you to find a regular time each day to use your PerioProtect Trays for just 15 minutes per gel.
Do not combine ReminGel with PerioGel. You may use them sequentially, following this protocol, but never at the same time in the same tray.
Suggested Daily Routine: You can use the products in back-to-back treatments—PerioGel first, then clean your trays thoroughly, followed by ReminGel—or you can split them into different times of day, such as PerioGel in the morning and ReminGel later in the day or evening. Always use as directed by your dentist
Here are times other patients have incorporated PerioProtect into their day:
- While they shower
- During their commute
- After their morning coffee
- During meditation or reading time
There’s no wrong time, the most important thing is to find time that works for you, so you can make it a part of your daily routine.
Also, why not document your progress? Take an initial photo so you can periodically compare and see your improvements as your treatment progresses!
By now, your gums are likely less swollen, and your breath should feel fresher throughout the day. Using your trays has probably become a natural part of your routine, and you may also notice your teeth feeling less sensitive as ReminGel helps strengthen enamel and reduce white spots. This is a good time to check your supply of both PerioGel and ReminGel and reorder if needed, so you can stay consistent with your treatment.
At this point, your gums should be looking great. Bleeding should have been eliminated, bacteria should be at a low, non-impactful level, and your teeth should look much whiter than Day 1. It’s also time to make an appointment and return to the dentist for your 6-month cleaning and checkup. We’re confident you and your dentist will be pleased with the improvements.
Now would be a great time to take a current photo of your gums and compare it to your Day 1 photo.

How To Use

Step 1
Apply a small, thin line of PerioGel across the tooth indentations.

Place the Perio Tray into your mouth so the tray covers all the teeth and fully seats in place. Spit out any excess medication.

Wear your Perio Trays for the time prescribed by your doctor (Typically, 15 minutes per session).

Step 4
After use, remove the Perio Tray. Brush your teeth to remove any excess medication.

Step 5
Use your toothbrush to clean the Perio Trays and rinse them thoroughly with cold water. DO NOT USE HOT WATER.

Gently towel-dry your Perio Trays and return them to the storage case.

Use ReminGel separately. Never mix PerioGel and ReminGel together in your Perio Tray.Â

Step 8
Apply ReminGel in your clean trays. Place the Perio Tray into your mouth so the tray covers all the teeth and fully seats in place. Spit out any excess medication.

The experience I had using ReminGel was life changing.
I had very sensitive teeth before the treatment. I would say that I was an extreme case. Drinking or eating anything cold was a real struggle for me.
